GISelIZS AE is a desktop application extending standard functionality of Esri ArcGIS SW. The application was developed specially for operational centres of integrated rescue system (which includes fire rescue service, police and medical rescue service). The main purpose of this application is quick location of reported occasion, tracking of moving objects (mobile rescue units) and their visualization in a map. GISelIZS AE uses Esri ArcObjects component.

The application consists of three parts:

• Administrator IZS represents an extension to ArcGIS Desktop which provides its users with tools and functions for easier and faster work with map projects.
• Operator IZS is a GIS client for map project visualization which focuses on lucid and user-friendly interface.
• Search Admin is a tool for user-defined search database creation.

GISelIZS AE features:

• adjustable user interface
• utilization of various web map services (ArcIMS, WMS, WFS)
• locating various objects in a map (e.g. address, local names, road, railway and waterway km signs, lakes and other water bodies, points of interest and so on)
• utilization of tracking layers - dynamic layers in which it is possible to display a mobile unit in the area and enter or modify the location of rescue forces intervention
• management of search databases (incl. data import)
• possibility of working simultaneously with multiple map frames
• continuous display of directions from the centre of a map to closest objects (e.g. municipalities) including the distance to these objects
• coordinate lookup
• set map scales
