We are glad to have discovered that the map service which we provide for the Center for Regional Development of the Czech Republic, or for regional information services, is steadily becoming more popular with common users. Let us introduce this year’s news in the service (www.risy.cz):
Ortophotomap of the Czech Republic
The most attractive news in the map service for CRD include the embedding of the 2m/pixel resolution orthophoto into maps that cover the entire land area of the Czech Republic. Now, you can get a very realistic view of the requested area together with additional interesting information that the service offers. The orthophotomap was supplied by the Geodis Brno company.
Addresses in the map
The service that is utilized most often is the search for address points in the Czech Republic. CSU supplied the complete data set of address points in which you can search and, more importantly, project them into the map. In addition to this, you can also search the database of streets, towns, railway stations, water surfaces, industrial zones, and many other facilities.
Web Map Services
The following might be just an interesting feature for the common user but for the partner organizations it is a tremendous benefit. The web map service provided on the CRD CR server as limited access service is intended for selected partner organizations of CRD CR. This feature allows individual regional development agencies, that are the CRD’s “executive arms” extended to all regions, to use their local GIS desktop software and work with selected data that are stored on the CRD CR server and use them as background data (the availability is always limited to their particular area of interest) to display own data or create new data.
