Merida Bike Adventure 2007
The Protected Landscape Area of Zdarske Vrchy, in particular the ski resort near Hotel SKI in the town of Nove Mesto na Morave, became the center of yet another annual Bike Adventure race. 1 100 competitors, some of them from abroad, participated.

The event is organized for anyone who has a mountain bike and wants to try something new. The race is based on the popular scorerun principles that consist of two basic parameters – time (set time limit for all competitors) and points (number of earned points varies at different check points). The goal is to earn the maximum number of points within the set time limit. The competitors ride in teams of two, each team selects their own sequence of check points and the pace. The race consists of two stages, the results from day 1 and 2 are added together to get a total. The success is based on strategic thinking, ability to combine, team work, and, of course, on physical preparedness of the competitors.

Our company was represented in the race by several teams.

Three of our teams (50. Tomas Kunart, Jan Jiran; 82. Tomas Novotny, Tomas Hulek; 94. Ondrej Vesely, Radovan Kovarik) signed up for the most popular MM category (the male competitors group) and all these teams placed in the Top 100 which was a great achievement concerning the fact that 238 teams competed.

In the MM+ category (an experienced male competitors group), we were represented only by the Kamenicky brothers who utilized their ability to ride the race in flawless harmony and placed second. Congratulations.

In the mixed teams categories (MDs) we were represented by two teams. Lucie Novakova and Milan Kollinger placed 40th and Michaela Markova and Petr Havelka placed 102nd in the MD category. The triumph came in the MD+ category and was supplied by the unbeatable couple: Mr and Mrs Novotny – they won the category. Double congratulations!

T-MAPY placed second in the club ratings. The motivation to compete in the future contests is certainly here.
