This year’s meeting with our users was held in the city of Prerov on September 18 – 19 and could be captioned as "the spirits were high aboard the ship". This lyrics extract from the song “Lada’s sailing” by Mladek describes the two main impressions most of the visitors had during the meeting – the event was carried out in the seafaring spirit (which accompanied the participants during the entire day one) and the atmosphere was friendly and easy-going.

The opening words of the Thursday’s program by the owners of the company (M.Novotny, J.Bradac) were followed by the contribution by Christer Kjellkvist, T-Kartor’s Managing Director, who attended the whole event. We were happy that our customers could take this opportunity to discuss GIS issues with some one “from outside” and confront their opinions with a person who is not burdened with the Czech problems.
Then the word went to our directors. Pavel Trhon introduced selected user projects and Tomas Krecmer talked about our company’s important products. When they finished, our customers introduced interesting and innovative projects that we had solved together. The first day ended in an indeed thematic way. After the contest in dragon boat rides, the social program started and the Brass Banda one of a kind music band from the city of Rakovnik, played for us.

More user readings were presented this year than in the past years and this made the whole event more colorful. On many occasions, the readers gained attention not only with interesting contents of their presentations but also with interesting concepts (demonstration of GPS aided data collection, simulation of the decision making process on establishing new health care facilities by VZP CR, etc.) We are very happy that this year’s event was a success and that all of us enjoyed ourselves there.
